You’re Not Doing It Wrong—You’re Doing It Alone
Feb 13, 2026
If you’ve ever listened to a podcast, read the books, reflected deeply—and still felt like something wasn’t quite changing—you’re not broken.
You’re human.
And you’re trying to do work that was never meant to be done alone.
Most women physicians I work with are thoughtful, insightful, and deeply committed to their patients and families. They get the concepts. They understand the importance of boundaries, rest, and self-kindness.
What they struggle with isn’t effort—it’s sustainability.
Medicine teaches us to be self-contained and self-directed. If something isn’t working, we assume the answer is more discipline, more grit, more pushing.
But things like presence, effectiveness, and compassion don’t grow well in isolation.
They grow in relationship.
When women physicians come together in supportive spaces, three things shift:
First, community changes what feels possible.
When you hear someone else name your exact struggle, shame softens. You stop treating your experience as a personal failure and start addressing the real obstacles.
Second, accountability becomes supportive instead of punishing.
External structure doesn’t add pressure—it holds your intentions when your energy is depleted. It helps small changes actually stick.
Third, self-kindness grows faster in relationship.
Most of us learn compassion by being treated kindly. In supportive groups, we internalize a new voice—one that says, “Of course this is hard.” That voice is what sustains real change.
This is the foundation of The Practice—a connected community for women physicians practicing a more sustainable way of living and working.
Inside The Practice, you’ll find:
- Small, intentional group sessions
- Open space to problem-solve real challenges
- Monthly 1:1 coaching
- A container where your humanity is not treated as a flaw
You don’t need to be more resilient.
You need support that actually fits your life.
