Are you tired of feeling like you're running on empty?

Do the demands of your career and life leave you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted?

You're not alone.

We went into medicine to help people, but the way were trained to work comes at a great cost to your well-being. The constant pressure, unrelenting workload, and broken system can make you question your worth and purpose. It can make you want to leave.

Yesterday.

I know your pain; I've been there too.

For years I struggled, trying to balance the demands of my work as a Family Medicine Physician, alongside raising young children, always feeling pulled in too many directions. I felt like others around me seemed to have it all figured out, and I felt like something was wrong with me.

And each time I tried to fix it, tried to "just work harder," things seemed to get worse, and I felt worse. I didn't know what to do.

I spent a lot of time, looking for answers. I asked others about their experiences, I read books, listened to talks on burnout. I tried yoga and meditation and exercising more.

But it didn't get better. That is, it didn't get better until I learned that my conditioned thoughts, my habits of people-pleasing, perfectionism, my fear of setting boundaries were all holding me back. Until I learned to see these as obstacles, and realize how they were holding me back, I couldn't make progress. I had to unlearn these habits.

And now I teach others to do the same. Including YOU.

Healing Perfectionism in Women Physicians runs several times per year, and your next opportunity to join will be April 2024.

Imagine a life where you

  • Wake up each day excited and re-energized to make a difference in the lives of your patients, without losing yourself in the process.
  • Have the tools to set clear boundaries without guilt, ask for the support you deserve, and confidently say "no" when it's necessary.
  • Are thriving at work while also nurturing your well-being and personal life.

That's exactly what we build in this program.

1 Real Self-Care

Discover how to nurture your  emotional and physical well-being, without guilt.

2 Boundary Mastery

Gain practical tools to set  boundaries effectively and end the cycle of overcommitting.

3 Fill Your Own Cup

Build emotional resilience to navigate challenges and stay in momentum.

How does it happen?

I built this program based off the work of Brenè Brown, PhD, LMSW. In her book, The Gifts of Imperfection, she indentifies 10 Guideposts for Wholehearted Living, each anchored in the cultivation of what we seek (Authenticity, Self-Compassion, Rest & Play, Gratitude & Joy), and learning to let go of it's opposing force (fear of what others will think, perfectionism, numbing, scarcity, anxiety as a lifestyle).

Each week we will meet and explore where we have sticking points keeping us from the balance that we seek, even as we function within a broken healthcare system.

You don't have to wait for the system to be fixed before you feel better.

You just need to give yourself permission to take back control of your own life; to decide for yourself what YOU need and want in order to thrive.

I can show you how.

From Megan:

I'm done waiting for the healthcare system to fix Physician Burnout.

Don't wait on the chance to feel better.

Decide now that you are worth the investment.

Decide now that you are ready to let go of frustration and overwhelm and reclaim your life.

I'm deciding yes!

I didn't realize that so many of my other feelings related to work...burnout, shame, resentment were tied to perfectionism. A problem identified is half solved.

I realized that I was struggling with perfectionism and it was really taking away the joy of being a doctor.

I am reimagining the definition of perfectionism...I always thought it was someone who expected everything to be just so...so I never defined myself that way. I now see perfectionism is driving me to continue to hustle, it is a state of never enough.
